Armor Commissions New Equipment

Armor Australia has completed the installation and commisioning of an Okuma CNC Machining Centre. Driven by Armor's helmet development program, this aquisition further enhances the in-house R&D capabilities and demonstrates the ongoing commitment as a world leader in armour system design and manufacture.

Armor has completed the installation and commissioning of new digital CADCAM cutting equipment. The latest version (K5180) of the proven Pathfinder automated technical textile and armour composite cutting system has been selected to support Armor’s manufacturing requirements. The K5180 Pathfinder, with the latest software package allows Armor to optimise its raw materials handling to ensure maximum material utilisation and minimise wastage which provides significant benefits to the end user through lower costs and increased value for money.

Armor receives DMO Award

Armor Australia, is proud to announce that it has been recognised with an award for Team of the Year 2008 in the Minor Acquisition Category for the RAAF C-130J-30 Ballistic Protection Enhancement of the Loadmaster Area by the Defence Material Organisation (DMO). This project was singled out by DMO as it was delivered On-Time and Under Budget to support operational and performance requirements.

New R&D Section Completed

Armor's new dedicated In-House Research and Development section and Ballistic Test Range completed. Incorporated into the design of Armor's new facility, this section has been fitted out with increased lighting and computer systems to provide the Engineering, CAD, R&D and Testing team a secure area to conduct development and testing activities.

Armor relocates

Armor relocates to a new production facility. This new security gated 2000M² site allows Armor to continue to keep pace with the requirements of its expanding customer base.
